In 1969, the year Gerry graduated form college, he started the first draft of this story. Pete Seeger, who first gave him encouragement, was actively singing out against the Vietnam War. Gerry's friend, Robert Cox the cartoonist, was selling The Seed, an underground paper, on the streets of Chicago. Twenty years ago, the environmental movement was not as we know it today.
Let us go back for a moment, then fast forward to the Land of Azoozas-where one amphibian (Frog) and one giant robot dinosaur (Mr. Mike) are the only two characters in a world more urban than rural, more surreal than real, in a landscape where almost everything is made of concrete, glass, or metal.
